Reflect and be inspired at ‘The Echo of Ruins’

From now until Sept. 1, the Shenzhen Art Museum in Longhua District welcomes art enthusiasts to immerse themselves in distinguished artist and educator Ying Tianqi’s creative journey.

Occupying the first-floor halls 1 and 2 of the museum, the exhibition showcases over 20 early works by Ying, ranging from intricate pencil portraits and watercolor landscapes to distinctive prints.


Among these are 32 pieces from his renowned “Xidi Village Series,” featuring waterprint woodcuts inspired by a quaint village in southern Anhui Province, now housed in the esteemed British Museum.

Additionally, visitors will encounter a collection of more than a dozen paintings crafted using synthetic materials in recent years, along with a video presentation and various installations that encapsulate the artist’s contemplations on history and societal themes.
