PCL Asia Championship Finals to launch in Shenzhen

The 2025 PCL Asia Championship Finals, the pinnacle of Asia’s rapidly growing pickleball scene, will officially kick off on August 9–10 at the state-of-the-art Ramsports Pickleball Stadium in Guanlan, Shenzhen's Longhua District.


The continent’s eight top club teams are set to clash in a high-stakes showdown to determine the ultimate champions of Asia, according to sources from Ramsports, the event organizer.

From China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, and the Philippines, elite teams that have battled through a rigorous qualifying process — local city events, national finals, will now converge in Shenzhen for the continental playoffs.


Two standout teams from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA)— Team Shenzhen and Team Guangzhou — will lead charge after emerging victorious in the PCL GBA Qualifiers earlier this month in Shenzhen.


“Shenzhen is a key hub for pickleball in China,” said Alex Yuan, president of Ramsports Group. “Hosting the Asia finals here not only showcases our world-class facilities but reinforces our commitment to pushing the sport to new heights across the region.”


This tournament isn’t just about elite play — it’s also a celebration of urban spirit and national pride.


The Ramsports Pickleball Stadium, which opened in January 2025 at Mission Hills Mall in Longhua, spans 3,500 square meters and features ten courts, including four with retractable electric roofs. The venue is equipped with IPTPA-certified coaching, livestreaming technology, and spectator amenities designed to deliver an immersive experience for fans both on-site and online.


Match Schedule Highlights:

August 9: Group-stage round robins — nonstop international action.

August 10: Knockout rounds and the championship final — where legends are made.

Fan Zone: Interactive events and meet-the-players sessions throughout the weekend.

Team Composition & Match Format

Each club team consists of two men and two women. Matches include men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles, promoting gender inclusivity and dynamic play.

* Round-robin group stage: Each team plays 12 matches across four events.

* Top two advance to a group championship match; the winner represents their country at the Asia Championships in Shenzhen.

With ambitions to reach 100 million global players by 2030— over half expected in Asia— Kuhn’s strategy is clear: build grassroots pride, foster competitive excellence, and give fans a reason to cheer.
